This was the Queen's Coronation street party in Wattis Road, Bearwood. Phil and Joan Darley are dressed up. Phil is the devil and Joan with the tall hat. Brian's mother (Beatrice) is on the right beneath the photo of the Queen in the house window. Auntie Ede on the left in the check coat. Brian (aged 15), with the shock of hair, is standing in the doorway of Billy Hudson's house with Brian Allen on his right. Brian was a member of the Forward Operatic Company in Birmingham which put on annual shows at The Theatre Royal. Here is Brian aged 17 in costume in the musical Magyar Melody in May 1954.   Jean was also involved in musicals in Bristol Here she is (front row, 2nd from the left) with the Savoy Operatic Company in December 1957 Here is a nice photo of my sister Joan Darley.
